BERETTA' toward the breech end, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, hold-open toplever gold-inlaid with a crown, automatic safety, rolled-edge triggerguard, the action, pinless lockplates and furniture engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork surrounding vignettes of partridge, mallard and woodcock, the triggerplate signed 'Mattia', brushed finish, 15in. figured stock including 1/2in. rubber recoil pad, setting crack to rear of top tang and treated knot to hand left side, weight 6lb. 5oz., in its makers universal case
